The case of citizen (S.A.) involves a family living in one of the suburbs of Nablus. He was residing in a single room within his extended family’s home. The household is large, consisting of nine children in addition to the father and mother. The father is unemployed and lacked the financial means to complete renovations on their unfinished house.
The Balata Al Balad Women’s Association intervened to support the family by carrying out plastering and tiling work throughout the new home, as well as installing aluminum windows and doors. However, the association was unable to complete the kitchen and bathroom.
As a result, the association reached out to the CSC through the Housing Rehabilitation Program to assist in finishing the remaining work. The program staff promptly conducted a site visit to assess the home and meet with the family. After calculating the expected costs, the team began completing the kitchen and bathroom renovations, including full floor and wall tiling as well as all necessary plumbing installations.
This coordinated effort ensured that the family’s home was not only structurally complete but also equipped with safe and functional sanitary facilities, contributing to a healthier and more dignified living environment.
