As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, the CSC provided humanitarian support to a Palestinian family from one of the camps after the mother submitted a request for financial assistance. Her son, who excelled in the high school exam, had been unable to enroll in university after she was unsuccessful in securing support from other sources.

The family faces difficult economic conditions. The father works as a government employee with a limited income, while the mother cares for a household of eight children, all of whom are currently in school. These financial constraints prevented the family from covering the cost of their eldest son’s enrollment at An-Najah University.

In response, the CSC provided partial financial assistance to help cover the student’s tuition fees, allowing him to continue his educational journey. The mother expressed her appreciation for the professional and compassionate approach of the CSC staff, highlighting the respect and privacy she was given while sharing her situation. This experience strengthened her sense of trust and reassurance.

The CSC’s support extended beyond financial aid. The team also worked to empower the mother economically by encouraging her to seek suitable employment and nominating her for an opportunity with an international organization. As a result, she secured a position through a three-month emergency employment program, where she worked as a teacher’s assistant and made use of her academic background in English.

Given the temporary nature of the position, the CSC followed up with the organization and successfully facilitated an extension of her contract for an additional period. This step contributed to improving the family’s financial stability.

In a heartfelt statement, the mother expressed her deep gratitude to the CSC staff, noting that this experience marked a turning point in her life. It gave her a renewed sense of strength and the confidence to improve her family’s situation after a period of hardship.

This intervention reflects An-Najah National University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its community role through the CSC, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on reducing poverty and promoting social justice.
