The walls of Qusin Secondary Girls’ School are no longer merely fences surrounding the place; they have become murals telling stories of learning, hope, and beauty, opening small windows onto learning and imagination for the students.
With artistic touches by students and volunteers from the Community Service course, the Community Service Center organized a volunteer activity to beautify the school. Trees, birds, butterflies, flowers, and beloved cartoon characters were painted, alongside educational drawings and phrases carrying educational messages. A staircase ending at a gate reminds students that diligence is the path to achievement, while a brain that turns halfway into a candle symbolizes that knowledge is light. Meanwhile, the phrase “Our school is our second home, so let’s take care of it” calls for a sense of belonging and responsibility.
The colors were not just for decoration. Between one drawing and another, the students learn to love knowledge and care for the school environment, finding in the details around them room for curiosity, reflection, and joy.
Thus, the walls have become vibrant daily messages in an initiative that embodied the spirit of volunteer work and community partnership, proving that a simple artistic touch can make a school more beautiful and learning closer to the heart.
