The Housing Rehabilitation Program, one of the initiatives of the Community Service and Continuing Education Center at An-Najah National University, continued its efforts during the first half of 2019 to improve the health and environmental conditions of homes belonging to poor families.

Seventeen cases were completed during this period, primarily funded by the Multaqa Al-Khair Fund. The fund is supported through donations from friends of the Center and revenues from the Al-Khair Card, which is marketed by students enrolled in the Community Service course, in partnership and cooperation with local organizations.

The completed cases were distributed across Nablus and Tulkarm, including five cases within Nablus, eleven in surrounding villages, and one in Tulkarm Camp. Among these were eleven poor families, two elderly women, and four families headed by women.

The program also provided additional interventions for other impoverished families, offering engineering consultations and follow-up services for ongoing cases.

Engineer Osama Bani Odeh expressed his appreciation for all the efforts that made these interventions possible, whether through financial contributions or volunteer work.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Jaitan, a social worker at the Community Service and Continuing Education Center, also praised the dedication of the Center’s staff and volunteers. He commended the generous donors who helped fund the interventions and emphasized that access to adequate and healthy housing is a fundamental right for every citizen.
