In an atmosphere filled with warmth and genuine care, a member of the Al-Khair Forum hosted a special gathering for elderly women to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons. The Community Service Center organized a recreational activity attended by forty-five participants,
creating a joyful, family-like environment. The event featured engaging cultural competitions that encouraged interaction and fun among the elderly women.
During the gathering, a traditional Palestinian lunch was served, including Musakhan and a selection of popular sweets, strengthening the participants’ connection to their cultural heritage. In a touching gesture of appreciation, each elderly woman received a symbolic gift—a bottle of olive oil—celebrating the end of the harvest season and honoring their valuable role in society.
This activity highlights the center’s ongoing commitment to caring for the elderly through a comprehensive program that provides financial support, medical care and supplies, and regular visits and meetings. It reflects An-Najah National University’s dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals and its commitment to supporting those most in need of care and attention.
The gathering was more than a recreational event; it sent a profound humanitarian message, affirming that the elderly hold an invaluable place in society, and that honoring them is a celebration of a long legacy of giving.
