Despite the sorrow and hardship the country is going through, it was important to create a moment of joy, especially with our dear elderly friends at the Community Service Center. These friends are part of the center’s elderly care program, along with residents of nursing homes at both the Red Crescent Society and the House of Harmony and Love, affiliated with the Social and Cultural Association. This gathering was held in celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, which this year coincided with the beginning of the blessed Hijri year.
The event took place at Palestine Park in the Wadi Al-Badan area. The center’s staff, together with volunteers from the Goodness Forum Committee, offered hospitality that included a hot meal and dessert provided by the Nablus Zakat Committee through the kind efforts of the center’s volunteer, Imad Al-Laham. Entertainment was also arranged for the elderly, featuring light games, puzzles, and music.
Raja Al-Bawab, social worker and coordinator of the center’s elderly program, expressed her heartfelt thanks to the generous donors and volunteers from the Multaqa Al-Khair Committee, recognized as a leading organization in supporting community activities for seniors. She congratulated the elderly on their special day and emphasized that caring for them is a social responsibility and an expression of gratitude for all they have given and continue to give to their children and grandchildren.
