Students enrolled in the Community Service course planted 313 trees in home gardens during the summer semester of 2026 in various cities and villages across the country, extending into the Palestinian interior.
The planted trees included almonds, apricots, nectarines, peaches, cherries, plums, and citrus fruits, in addition to olives, guavas, avocados, apples, figs, pomegranates, and palms, as well as forestry trees such as cypress, carob, and eucalyptus.
The students documented the planting process through short videos, which in many cases showed family members participating in planting and caring for the trees, restoring the social and family dimension of agriculture and making the tree a project shared by the entire family.
The students plant trees in order to fulfill the requirements for passing the Community Service course, which is assessed against ten hours out of fifty hours the student must complete during the semester. The Community Service Center verifies the accuracy of the planting process through documentary videos of the home planting process, and the center also publishes the videos on YouTube and TikTok channels to spread the culture of tree planting and enhance the green cover in the country.
