As part of its ongoing efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by An-Najah National University—particularly in preserving the environment and improving health conditions—the Community Service Center’s Housing Rehabilitation Program, in partnership with local authorities, has worked to improve the living conditions of a low-income family in Balata Camp.
The family resides in a modest home that lacked basic health and environmental standards suitable for habitation. They suffered from poor indoor conditions caused by a leaking roof, which exacerbated issues of dampness and mold in the rooms where the children live.
With partial funding from generous donors, the program repaired and insulated the roof, rehabilitated the sanitary network, and restored the interior by plastering and painting the entire house.
Mr. Osama Bani Odeh, coordinator of the Housing Rehabilitation Program, noted that these improvements significantly enhanced both the health and environmental conditions of the home, and expressed his gratitude to all parties that supported the center in funding the project.
Mr. Muhammad Al-Jitan emphasized that the interventions not only improved physical health but also had a positive impact on the family’s psychological and social well-being. This case is part of a series of ongoing rehabilitation projects aimed at continuously supporting vulnerable families.
