The CSC at An-Najah National University organized a special Environmental Day at Ibn Hazm Basic School for Boys in Nablus as part of the university’s environmental and agricultural campaign to raise awareness and expand green spaces.

The activity focused on cleaning and reclaiming a neglected piece of land within the school that had become a health hazard and remained unused. The CSC team, working with the school’s volunteer committee and teaching staff, removed large amounts of waste to prepare the area for transformation into a safe and healthy space.

Participants planted three olive saplings on the site to revive the land and eventually turn it into a recreational area for students with seating, flowers, and roses. The goal is to enhance the overall school environment and strengthen students’ connection to nature.

The CSC stated that this initiative supports efforts to protect the environment and promote agriculture while highlighting the symbolic and national importance of the olive tree in Palestine. The initiative also aligns with sustainable development goals related to preserving wildlife and expanding green spaces in local communities.
