The town of Northern Asira hosted a special day for thirty elderly men and women, organized by the Community Service Center at An-Najah National University in collaboration with the Municipality of Northern Asira. The event was held at the Red Crescent Society in the town.
The activity aimed to provide the elderly with a space for care and celebration, despite the challenges and hardships the nation faces. It coincided with the International Day of Older Persons and World Diabetes Day, adding both a humanitarian and health-focused dimension to the event, reflecting deep appreciation for this valued group.
The program included a series of care and support activities. Psychological support sessions were offered to enhance feelings of reassurance and attention among participants. An educational workshop on diabetes provided guidance on managing the condition and preventing complications. The medical team conducted blood pressure and diabetes screenings to monitor the participants’ health. A nutritious meal tailored to their dietary needs was served, accompanied by simple gifts of healthy foods as a gesture of love and appreciation.
This activity created a space of comfort and reassurance for the elderly, honoring their history, wisdom, and the unmatched love they bring to the community.
