The CSC at An-Najah National University, through the Open Door Program, provided a total of 477 thousand shekels in non-refundable grants to university students during 2023. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to its national and humanitarian mission, grounded in the belief that education is a fundamental right that should not be constrained by economic circumstances.
This support aligns with the CSC’s dedication to promoting equal educational opportunities, one of the core pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
The grants targeted students from families facing sudden or chronic financial difficulties, which prevent them from meeting basic needs, most notably covering university tuition fees for their children.
The Open Door Program represents one of the most important and direct interventions of the CSC. It provides urgent financial assistance to needy students, ensuring the continuity of their education and protecting them from the risk of dropping out due to financial challenges.
The CSC emphasized that this support is more than temporary financial aid; it is a genuine investment in the Palestinian human capital. By enabling students to complete their higher education, the program helps break the cycle of poverty, build scientific and professional capacities, and prepare students to become active contributors to their communities’ development and progress.
Education, the CSC noted, is the cornerstone of societal development. It serves as a means to achieve social justice, raise awareness, and shape the future. From this perspective, An-Najah National University, through the CSC, continues to play a pioneering role in supporting students, believing that empowering even one student to complete their education can positively impact an entire family and contribute to the advancement of society as a whole.
