The CSC organized an environmental and agricultural activity on the old campus, engaging 25 male and female students enrolled in the Community Service course. The activity is part of the CSC’s ongoing efforts to involve students in fieldwork that benefits both the environment and society.

The environmental day included a variety of volunteer tasks. Students began by cleaning the garden next to the playgrounds, removing waste, stones, and unwanted plants. They then manually plowed the soil to prepare it for planting. Once the land was ready, participants planted beans and peas in the designated areas.

The CSC explained that this initiative reflects its broader approach to promoting environmental awareness and agricultural education. It emphasized that agricultural work is not limited to production but also strengthens the connection between humans and the land and fosters a culture of environmental stewardship.

These activities align with An-Najah National University’s vision to expand green spaces on and off campus, promote sustainability, and cooperate with official and community bodies on projects that benefit the environment. Through such initiatives, the university provides students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, enhancing their engagement in protecting the local environment and supporting sustainable development efforts.
