In cooperation between Nablus Municipality and An-Najah National University, a field environmental campaign was organized to clean the surroundings of the new university campus “Al-Akademia.” The cleaning work started from the beginning of Al-Akademia Street, passing through the vehicle entrance gate to the new campus and the new students’ registration center at the Korean Institute, and reaching Bassam Al-Shakaa Roundabout.
  Forty participants were divided into working groups that undertook the cleaning of sidewalks and surrounding roads, and the removal of dust, stones, and waste from the sides of the road and the central median, before collecting and transporting them to the designated containers. In parallel, Nablus Municipality crews carried out tree trimming as part of a plan that covered the entire area surrounding the main façade of the campus, and the center’s staff painted the street curbs and central medians at the aforementioned site.
The campaign also included preparing the area to host the “An-Najah Graduate Week and Torch Lighting” march and the graduation ceremonies of the forty-sixth cohort. This campaign comes within the framework of the university’s vision to strengthen partnership with local institutions and to consolidate the culture of volunteer work and community service, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, and in a way that contributes to preserving the environment and enhancing environmental awareness and social responsibility among students
