The Community Service Center at An-Najah National University, as part of the Supportive Community Education Program, carried out an environmental activity at Ibn al-Haytham Basic School for Boys, one of the schools included in the program.

A group of students took part in decorating the school walls with meaningful and beautiful drawings, which leave a positive psychological impact on the students.

Ms. Afnan Al-Nimr noted that the Supportive Community Education Program aligns its objectives with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education. It targets children with low academic achievement due to various economic and social circumstances, helping to reduce certain negative social phenomena, such as early marriage, school dropout, and child labor. The program is implemented in more than 35 public schools within the Nablus Directorate.

This activity comes within the framework of cooperation between the Community Service Center at An-Najah National University and the Directorate of Education in Nablus Governorate. It is an artistic and educational initiative aimed at improving the school environment in a number of schools across the governorate through distinctive activities carried out by community service students with artistic talent.

The activities included painting meaningful murals on school walls carrying educational and national messages, as well as painting educational and recreational games for children in schoolyards, helping create an appealing school environment that promotes the psychological well-being of students and teaching staff alike.

This initiative embodies An-Najah National University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and its dedication to harnessing its students’ energy and academic resources to serve the local community, beautify educational spaces, and maintain a stimulating school environment.

The organizers affirmed that these activities are part of the university’s vision to strengthen partnerships with community institutions, particularly in the education sector, and to work collaboratively to achieve a lasting positive impact on the lives of students and educational staff.
