With joint efforts, a blood donation campaign was organized in the new campus, where 70 male and female students donated 70 units of blood that were allocated to support patients in need at An-Najah National University Hospital. The donated blood units will help meet the needs of patients suffering from serious and chronic diseases, including thalassemia, leukemia, blood diseases, and kidney diseases, in addition to supporting emergency cases, complex surgical operations, and people injured in traffic accidents.
The two-day activity was carried out by the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations – Nablus branch, in partnership with An-Najah National University Hospital – Blood Bank and students of the Community Service course, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, through a blood donation campaign at the Korean Institute – Academic Campus, with the participation of students of the Community Service and Sustainable Development course.
The campaign reflects the continued role of the center in supporting the blood donation system, as the number of blood units donated by students during the last academic year reached 2634 units, according to the center’s annual report recently published. For more than a quarter of a century, the center has continued its role as one of the largest suppliers of blood to hospitals in the northern West Bank, contributing to saving the lives of hundreds of patients annually.
