The Optometry Department and the CSC at An-Najah National University organized a free vision screening medical day at the CSC headquarters on Sufyan Street in Nablus. The event attracted a wide turnout, with vision tests conducted for fifty beneficiaries, including individuals receiving psychological and social support as well as financial assistance through the center’s programs for orphans and impoverished families.

Examinations were supervised by Dr. Ithar Bishtawi, head of the Optometry Department, with support from a professional medical team and trained students who assisted in providing services in a professional and caring environment. Cases requiring specialized examination or treatment were referred to An-Najah National University Hospital, while those needing eyeglasses were directed to the university’s Optometry Department to complete the service.

The event received high praise from participants, who appreciated the professionalism, smooth procedures, and the psychological and social support provided by the CSC staff during the waiting period. Citizens highlighted the initiative as a humanitarian effort that strengthens trust between the community and the university, reflecting a spirit of giving and social responsibility.

The selection of beneficiaries reflects the Optometry Department and CSC’s focus on supporting underprivileged groups by providing essential health and social services. The initiative aligns with the university’s commitment to sustainable development goals, particularly efforts to combat poverty and promote health and well-being for all.
