In its ongoing commitment to fostering a safer and more prepared community, the CSC at An-Najah National University recently concluded two specialized training courses in firefighting and first aid for university students. Conducted in collaboration with the Nablus Fire Department and the Community Youth Training Center at Medical Relief, these courses equipped participants with essential emergency response skills.

Firefighting Training Course

The firefighting course, attended by 32 students, focused on fire response strategies, fire prevention methods, and the principles of ignition, extinguishing, and safe evacuation. Under the supervision of Issam Saleem, Training Coordinator at the Nablus Fire Department, participants gained valuable hands-on experience in managing and mitigating fire-related incidents.

First Aid Training Course

The first aid course, which included 45 students divided into two groups, covered key medical emergency procedures such as responding to cardiac arrest, loss of consciousness, head, spinal, and neck injuries, as well as managing bleeding, fractures, and airway obstruction. Led by paramedics Mohamed Hawash and Omar Al-Baz from the Community Youth Training Center at Medical Relief, the course offered practical training in vital life-saving techniques.

Both courses aimed to empower students with the confidence and competence to respond effectively to emergencies, preparing them to handle real-world challenges with skill and responsibility. This initiative highlights An-Najah National University’s strong dedication to community safety, student development, and the promotion of social responsibility.
