As part of the university's efforts to promote social responsibility and respond to the needs of marginalized groups, the An-Najah Children's Institute, the Community Service Center, and the An-Najah Innovation Park launched a specialized training course to rehabilitate elderly sitters at An-Najah National University.


The first meeting of the course, held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, witnessed the participation of a group of girls, youth and women interested in developing their skills in the field of caring for the elderly. The training day included multiple topics that focused on understanding aging and the physical and psychological changes associated with it, in addition to common diseases in the elderly and the ethics of dealing with them.

The first session was presented by Farah Darwaza and Razan Iskandar, and lasted for four hours, and included theoretical and interactive presentations that aimed to build a solid knowledge and behavioral foundation for participants in dealing with the elderly.

The course will continue in the coming weeks through a series of training sessions delivered by specialists from the fields of medicine, psychology, occupational therapy, nursing, and sociology, focusing on various topics including psychological support, daily care, monitoring vital signs, communication skills, first aid, and injury prevention.
