The CSC, in cooperation with the Popular Committee Association, the Directorate of Social Development, and a number of generous donors, implemented a project to expand and renovate a home for a family in the city of Nablus. This effort aimed to ease the long-standing psychological and financial pressures the family had been facing and reflects a strong spirit of community solidarity.
The family consists of two parents and five school-aged children. They had been living in a single, overcrowded room within an extended family home, sharing the space with grandparents and two aunts, one of whom has a disability. The lack of space, combined with frequent household tensions, created an ongoing stressful environment that negatively affected the mental well-being of the mother and children and placed strain on family relationships.
The situation was especially challenging because one of the children has cognitive and learning difficulties, along with severe hyperactivity. The crowded and stressful environment made it even harder for him to feel safe and focus on his development, highlighting the urgent need for a more stable and supportive living space.
In response, the partner organizations carried out a home expansion project that included building two additional rooms and adding proper sanitary facilities alongside the original space. This provided the family with a more private and functional home environment.
The impact of this project went beyond physical improvements. It created a meaningful shift in the family’s daily life by offering them greater comfort, stability, and a sense of dignity. It gave them the space they needed to rebuild a healthier and more peaceful home environment.
This initiative is part of broader community efforts to support vulnerable families, particularly children, the elderly, and individuals facing health challenges, by ensuring access to safe, stable, and dignified housing.
