CSC has released its report on the achievements of the Open Door Program for the 2023–2024 academic year. The program provided 600 partial scholarships to university students, valued at 477,000 shekels. It also distributed 75 food parcels and 260 shopping vouchers to needy families as part of emergency aid, totaling 33,500 shekels to supply urgent food needs.
In addition, all beneficiaries of the vocational rehabilitation program for people with disabilities at the Sheikh Zayed Center received shopping vouchers worth 4,250 shekels. The program also contributed 11,250 shekels to partially cover the costs of medicines, X-rays, medical tests, physical and occupational therapy fees, and supportive medical devices for various individuals in need.
The program further allocated 27,000 shekels to provide diapers for the disabled and elderly, amounting to 1,500 bags. It assisted in meeting in-kind needs such as household electrical appliances and furniture for approximately 90 families, valued at 6,500 shekels, and distributed 84,060 shekels in financial assistance to 120 needy families. Additionally, the program provided 3,600 kilograms of bread, 250 school uniforms, backpacks, and stationery to many beneficiaries.
The Open Door Program, operating since 1999, reflects An-Najah National University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, combating hunger and poverty, and promoting health, hygiene, and overall well-being. The program aligns with the university’s mission to uphold social responsibility based on equality and respect for human rights.
CSC’s work through this program serves as the primary line of direct communication between the university and the community, strengthening its impact on those in need.
