The CSC provided two refrigerators to support two families living in extremely difficult conditions, with in-kind contributions from four donors as part of a continuous charity effort. The assistance benefited a widow who is solely responsible for supporting five children, one of whom has ongoing health issues. It also supported a complex extended family that includes a divorced woman and her four daughters, three of whom suffer from chronic eye conditions, as well as her divorced daughter and two grandchildren, all living under the same strained circumstances.
This initiative was the result of a careful assessment of the needs of the most vulnerable families. While modest in scale, the support had a meaningful impact that extended beyond the material value of the refrigerators. The absence of a functioning appliance to preserve food, following the breakdown of their previous units, had made daily life increasingly difficult, especially in the face of limited income and rising economic pressures.
The intervention provided more than a practical solution. It restored a sense of stability, dignity, and relief within the households, demonstrating how targeted support can make a tangible difference in everyday life.
The CSC emphasized that this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to ease the burden on families in need and strengthen social solidarity. The center also acknowledged the important role of donors whose contributions helped turn compassion into meaningful action.
This effort reflects the broader social and humanitarian mission of An-Najah National University, which continues to promote solidarity, reduce poverty, and align its initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals by delivering real and lasting impact for those most in need.
