The CSC, in collaboration with Nablus Municipality, organized an environmental field activity at Sheikh Mohammed Tafaha Girls’ School in Nablus to improve the school environment and raise environmental awareness among students. The initiative introduced students to the importance of planting and preserving the environment, highlighting the economic and ecological benefits of olive trees and their future uses.
The activity began after identifying a 500-square-meter plot within the school that was unsuitable for cultivation due to rocky soil. The CSC rehabilitated and leveled the land using machinery, then added suitable agricultural soil to prepare it for planting, transforming it into a green space and agricultural area for students.
Students planted 21 olive saplings on the site. The activity also included a street-cleaning campaign adjacent to the school, promoting a culture of public cleanliness and care for green spaces.
The CSC emphasized that the initiative aims to establish a green school garden that improves air quality and encourages students to adopt sustainable environmental practices.
This activity is part of the university’s broader environmental campaign to increase green areas and preserve the environment in line with sustainable development goals, particularly in wildlife conservation and climate change mitigation. The campaign will continue with field visits to schools and uncultivated government lands, promoting environmental sustainability and creating a healthy, clean environment for future generations.
