The CSC in collaboration with the World Service Organization in Barcelona, organized an introductory meeting about global volunteer camps, their philosophy, areas of work, and the communities they serve.
The meeting was presented by Mr. Alaa Abu Dheir, Director of the Community Service Center, who spoke about the role of volunteering in building character and developing professional and personal skills. He also highlighted how volunteering promotes cross-cultural understanding and encouraged students to gain the skills needed to join the global movement of volunteering in environmental, humanitarian, and community initiatives.
Mr. Ramses Hijazi, representing the Civil Service Organization in Barcelona, introduced the organization’s history, fields of work, and its role in organizing volunteer camps across various countries around the world.
The meeting aimed to familiarize students with opportunities to participate in global volunteer camps organized by the World Service Organization in Europe, helping them benefit from these international experiences to enhance their skills, broaden their knowledge, and improve their language abilities. The session also included an explanation of the participation requirements, such as language and cultural proficiency.
It is worth noting that the Zajal International Youth Exchange Program is the official partner of the World Service Organization in Palestine.
