The CSC at An-Najah National University continues to make significant progress in supporting marginalized groups and low-income families in the city of Nablus and surrounding areas as part of its Housing Rehabilitation Program.

The program has recently completed several projects funded by local donors, as well as proceeds from charity cards purchased by university students and professors in support of the CSC’s various programs. These efforts were carried out in partnership and cooperation with several local entities.

Among the program’s success stories is a case in the town of Beita involving a woman who supports a family of six living in a rented one-room house with shared facilities. Through the generosity of the town’s residents and contributions from local organizations, a new house was built and completed for this family. The CSC contributed to the exterior and interior plastering of the house.

Another remarkable case took place in the city of Nablus, where a poor family of six was living in a home that lacked the basic sanitary conditions necessary for a decent life. The house consisted of only one room and minimal amenities. With the support of generous donors and in partnership with the CSC, an apartment that the family had inherited was renovated and made livable. The family was then able to move into a healthier and more spacious home.

The CSC also provided engineering consultations and follow-up for several additional cases, including one in the village of Nisf Ajbil. In that case, a family of three headed by a woman was living in an old, modest house suffering from leaks, damaged electrical wiring, and an untiled room. The CSC provided engineering supervision for the renovation work, which was generously funded by the Dar Al-Ata Charitable Association. The project included rehabilitating the electrical wiring and tiling the children’s room.

Program Coordinator Engineer Osama Bani Odeh expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to these efforts, whether through financial or moral support. He extended special thanks to the community service course students who help fund the CSC’s activities by marketing charity cards, which directly support the Housing Rehabilitation Program. This program aims to improve the living and health conditions of low-income families by enhancing and rehabilitating their homes.

Mr. Bilal Salama, Director of the CSC, praised the dedication of the center’s staff and volunteers and commended the donors whose support made these projects possible. He emphasized that adequate and healthy housing is a fundamental right for every citizen.

Mr. Salama also called on all official and private entities to lend a helping hand in improving the housing conditions of needy families, stressing that the CSC remains open to collaboration and welcomes all who wish to contribute or build upon its extensive experience in this vital field.
