The Community Service Center, in cooperation with the Directorate of Education, organized a series of activities to plant olive trees and forest trees in various schools in Nablus city. The campaign aimed to increase the green areas in the city by planting in locations where water sources are available to ensure irrigation of the trees during the summer season.

Since the campaign was launched last fall, 464 trees have been planted in the gardens of nineteen schools and charities, including 277 olive seedlings, 15 citrus trees and 45 forest trees.

Through the community service course, students planted 127 fruit and forest trees in the gardens of their homes in various cities and villages to complete the requirements of the community service course. This task was adopted as one of the tasks assigned to the course students to plant a fruit or forest sapling in the home garden to provide care and irrigation for it and to promote belonging to the land and encourage interest in agriculture.

The agricultural activity was organized in schools that have gardens suitable for agriculture, where students were involved in agriculture and trained in it, and encouraged them through educational interventions directed at caring for the environment and not harming trees because of their religious, national and environmental value, in addition to the financial return that will benefit the school and students.

This comes as part of the “If someone has a seedling in his hand, let him plant it” campaign, which was recently launched by An-Najah National University to green the city of Nablus by planting trees in schools, parks, institutions and public facilities, in which the center will work to plant three thousand trees within three years, God willing. This initiative comes as part of the university's commitment to work towards achieving the goals of sustainable development and harnessing its capabilities for the benefit of society and the environment.
