The Community Service and Continuing Education Center at An-Najah National University continued its achievements in assisting marginalized groups and low-income families in the city of Nablus and surrounding residential areas, as part of its housing rehabilitation program.

The program has recently completed several projects with local funding from donors, in addition to proceeds from charity cards purchased by university students and professors to support the center's various programs, in partnership and cooperation with a number of local entities.

A number of success stories have been recorded, including a case in the town of Beita involving a woman supporting a family of six living in a rented one-room house with shared facilities. Through the generosity of the town's residents and some local entities, a new house was built and finished for this family. The center's role was to contribute to the exterior and interior plastering of the house.

Another case that stood out was that of a poor family of six in the city of Nablus who were living in a house that lacked the sanitary conditions necessary for a decent life. The house consisted of one room and its amenities. Thanks to the efforts of kind-hearted people in this country, and in partnership with the Center, an apartment was renovated for the family, which was transferred to them through inheritance, allowing the family to move into a home that is healthier and more spacious than their old one.

In addition to many cases in which the center provided engineering consultations and follow-up for intervention works, including a case in the village of Nisf Ajbil for a family of three headed by a woman living in an old and modest house suffering from leaks and damage to the electrical wiring and an untiled room, The center provided engineering supervision for the intervention work, with generous funding from the Dar Al-Ata Charitable Association, which included the rehabilitation of the electrical wiring and tiling of the children's room.

In turn, Engineer Osama Bani Odeh, the program coordinator, thanked everyone who contributed and participated in the completion of this work, whether through material or moral efforts, especially the community service course students who support the center by marketing charity cards to fund the center's activities, particularly the housing rehabilitation program for poor families, which works to improve the living and health conditions of low-income families by improving and rehabilitating housing facilities.

Mr. Bilal Salama, Director of the Community Service and Continuing Education Center, praised the efforts of the center's staff and volunteers, commending the donors who supported the funding of the cases that the center is working on, pointing out that adequate and healthy housing is a citizen's right.

Mr. Salama called on all official and private entities to lend a helping hand to improve the housing of needy families, stressing that the center is open to all interested parties to invest in its accumulated experience in this field.
