The Community Service Center carried out maintenance and rehabilitation work at Qusin Secondary School for Girls with the aim of rehabilitating the school’s facilities, preparing its yards, and improving its educational environment. The initiative’s work included implementing a series of restoration, maintenance, and organization tasks, starting with the restoration of the wall located in the northeastern part of the back yard by reinforcing it with reinforced concrete columns, plastering it, and finishing it, in addition to trimming the tree adjacent to the wall to reduce the risks it may pose to the safety of the students.
The old seats made from car tires were also rehabilitated by filling them with concrete and reshaping them into usable seats, removing weeds from the front yard and the passage leading to the canteen and the back yard, and getting rid of their roots. In addition, holes and cracks were filled with concrete, and the dense branches of the trees adjacent to the school entrance were trimmed.
The works also included reinstalling the wooden benches and moving them under the canopy, reinforcing them with iron legs, and painting all the iron benches fixed in the courtyards, along with the supports of the side canopy in the front courtyard. The entire eastern fence, extending to the back courtyard, was also painted, and small marble dividers were installed at the edges of the stairway entrance to reduce water leakage into the cafeteria, thus providing the female students with a space that is safer, cleaner, and more comfortable, and enhancing their sense of reassurance and belonging to the place where they spend an important part of their daily lives.
The importance of this initiative is not limited to the structural and aesthetic aspects alone, but also extends to its psychological and educational dimensions; a safe, orderly, and clean school environment is an important factor in strengthening the students’ sense of safety and stability, and in reducing sources of anxiety associated with unsafe facilities, holes, cracks, and damaged walls. It also provides a more comfortable space that helps them interact, focus, and practice their school life in a more positive way, especially with the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.
