In cooperation with Nablus Municipality and the staff of Jamal Abdel Nasser Park, the Community Service Center carried out a volunteer environmental protection activity within the park. This initiative is part of a series of efforts by the center to promote environmental sustainability and reflects An-Najah National University’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of protecting life on land and maintaining cleanliness.

Jamal Abdel Nasser Park serves as a recreational space for many families in Nablus, but public neglect had affected its beauty. Ms. Afnan Hassan emphasized that the activity’s purpose goes beyond cleaning and beautifying the park. It also aims to raise awareness among students and

visitors about the importance of preserving the environment and maintaining cleanliness to ensure the area remains beautiful and sustainable.

Over one hundred volunteers participated in the two-day activity on Wednesday and Thursday, 22nd and 23rd of May 2024. The work included cleaning the park, painting murals to enhance its appearance, and conducting guidance and awareness campaigns for visitors.
