CSC continues its humanitarian work spanning more than a quarter of a century, supporting orphans through its sponsorship program. The program is funded by the center’s resources, contributions from students in the Community Service course, local sponsors, donors from the Goodness Forum Committee, and support from the Palestinian Child Association in Canada.
The program began modestly in 2000, covering two sponsored children through local community members. In 2002, it expanded in partnership with the Palestinian Orphan Assistance Association in Germany to support six orphans. Growth continued in 2007 with the involvement of the Palestinian Child Care Association in Canada, which sponsored ten children, followed in 2009 by additional local sponsors who adopted five more children. By 2012, the number of beneficiaries reached 35, and by 2025, the program had grown to support 143 orphans.
The sponsorship program provides periodic allowances to beneficiaries according to the donor’s preference, whether monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly, ensuring continuous support to meet their basic needs. This initiative reflects An-Najah National University’s strong commitment to social responsibility and its practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in combating poverty and hunger while promoting social solidarity
